DESCRIPTION

The massive crime epic that changed open world gaming forever.

Welcome to Liberty City. The place where it all began.

The game revolves around an unnamed criminal who was betrayed by his own girlfriend during a bank robbery. Before the protagonist confronts her and gets his ultimate chance at revenge, he needs to gradually advance to become the crime boss of the city by himself and the missions and jobs offered by other people in the mob. Like its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto III implements sandbox-like gameplay, allowing players to freely implement various activities in a large city, such as completing missions, exploring the city, committing crimes, or completing secondary tasks.

The plot revolves around Claude and his girlfriend Katerina planning a heist in Liberty City, when the heist is close to success the girlfriend betrays him, Katerina kills another accomplice and then shoots the bullet at Claude. The police found Claude and sent him to the hospital for treatment, but also sentenced him to ten years in prison in the process. Claude was put in a police van with two other prisoners, car bomb expert "8-Ball" and "Oriental Gentleman", and the van took them from Staunton (City 2) to Portland (City 1). While passing the Claghan Bridge, which connects the two districts, a gang of robbers who planned to take "Oriental Gentleman" came out and dropped a time bomb, surrounded the prison van, hijacked the police officers, took "Oriental Gentleman" and left. Claude and 8-Ball were thus freed, and when they had just taken a breath, the time bomb on the bridge suddenly exploded and the Clapham Bridge was blown off.

Claude follows 8-Ball to a safe house in Portland's red light district to escape the police. After a short break, the two decide to go to 8-Ball's friend Luigi's (Luigi) 7 strip club to find some work to do. In the course of his career for Luigi, Claude befriends Joey, a sophisticated auto mechanic; El Burro, a yellow magazine publisher and leader of the Devil's Gang; Tony, a cadre of the Lyon family mafia; and Salvador Lyon, the gang's godfather. Claude does all sorts of things for them, so much so that he has an unholy grudge against Portland's Chinese gang, the Triad. But when Claude did the biggest job for Salvatore, Salvatore decided to assassinate Claude. Claude escapes because of a leak from Salvatore's wife Maria, and leaves Portland with Maria and Akira, the sister of the head of the Japanese gang Yakuza, on a boat to Staunton, arriving just as the repair of the Clapham Bridge connecting the two islands is completed, while Claude's feelings for Maria grow ..........

The dark and dirty underworld of Liberty City comes to life. With a large and diverse open world, wild characters from all walks of life and the freedom to explore at will, Grand Theft Auto III puts the dark, fun and ruthless world of crime at your fingertips.

With great voice acting, a dark comic book storyline, an amazing soundtrack and revolutionary open-world gameplay, Grand Theft Auto III is the open-world genre game that defined a generation.

How to play

The core of Grand Theft Auto III combines elements of third-person shooting and driving, inheriting the features of its predecessors Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto II. When moving players can choose to walk, run and jump (but not swim), but also can use weapons and basic hand-to-hand combat skills; can also drive a variety of vehicles.

Grand Theft Auto III's game structure has not changed much. The player's character is placed in a large and open map, and is free to complete the main story missions, secondary missions (vigilante, medical and cab missions, etc.) or free to explore. Completing missions rewards players with money, small rewards, or unlocks a new street and area in Liberty City for players to explore. There are six levels of law enforcement, including police, SWAT, FBI agents and military, who deal with in-game violations; avoid them in the same way as in Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto II. Most of the vehicles in Grand Theft Auto III are designed to look very similar to the real thing. Crimes such as car theft, murder and theft can also be committed in this game.

The flat screen display has been significantly revised. It has been changed to a player-centric compass, guided by a separate mini-map that also shows a map of key locations in the city (such as hideouts and contact points) or targets. Armor and life values are displayed by numbers, and a 24-hour clock has been added. Gang respect value is no longer displayed independently; instead, the player's progress affects the respect value of gang members. When a player completes a mission for a different gang, gang henchmen will actively attack the player if they pass through hostile gang territory.

Once the player's character dies or is arrested, they will be immediately sent to the local hospital or police station respectively, and will lose all their weapons and a certain amount of money for "medical expenses" or "bribery", but there is no limit to the number of deaths or arrests.
