Fishdom: A Matching Puzzle Game That Requires Skills

Fishdom is a logic game developed by Playrix that uses a 3-match puzzle that needs your problem-solving skills. The game can be played by 14-year-olds as long as there is parental guidance. It is free to games on Apple and Android devices.

For first-time gamers, the app will ask you to grant access to your photos and other files. You will not be able to play if you denied the access request of the app.

Your main goal is to create decorations in your aquarium where you should purchase certain items. You can buy these decorations using the coins earned from matching the puzzles, succeeding and completing challenges, and completing levels. You will also have extra coins when you finish the puzzle with moves left. Since your goal is to decorate your aquarium, you may also buy new fish to keep them roaming around the decorations that you will buy eventually.

Before the start of the game, you will be given 5 lives, 800 coins, and some gems. You will need the 800 coins to purchase your first fish in your aquarium, which is a goldfish. To purchase more decorations, you have to play games with the lives given. Since the game has hundreds of puzzles to play, you can finish the levels as long as you are continuously finishing the puzzles and have lives left to use.

Before you start playing, the best trick is to strategize your game. As mentioned earlier, the game has no time limit so you can plan your moves. You will only have a limited number of moves on each puzzle so better think about every move. The best strategy to do is to look for pieces where you can combine them continuously. If you can create larger matches on the puzzle, you will be able to create power-ups that you can use for harder levels.

Your power-ups are always available when you need them, but do not depend on those during your play. These are recommended to be used only on harder puzzles. The power-ups that you can create are fireworks, bombs, dynamite, warhead, and lightning.

Firecrackers are created if you match four pieces with the same color. This power-up will be able to remove the pieces within a one-tile radius.

When you matched 5 pieces with the same color, you will be able to get the bomb. It will also remove the pieces, but it has more coverage than the firecrackers since it can remove pieces within a two-tile radius.

Like firecrackers and bombs, the dynamite also removes pieces but it is more powerful than the first two. It can remove pieces on a three-tile radius.

Same with the warhead, seven matching pieces remove all the pieces in a four-tile radius.

On the lower-left corner of your screen, there is a Lightning meter. This will determine the time you will be able to use the special power-up. Once it is full, you can use the lightning to remove entire pieces of the same color on your puzzle.

When you have the chance to combine all these power-ups, it will create a massive explosion that can wipe out almost the entire pieces of your puzzle. These power-ups can be manually used during the game, but to save these predetermined power-ups, you can just swipe the pieces to get matching colors and you will be able to produce more of these power-ups.

Aside from the power-ups earned from the game, there is another set of power-ups when you play a game from the menu. The set includes a hammer, torpedo, and a diving glove which you can use on the game without spending a move.

Since Fishdom has more than a hundred puzzles to play, there will be puzzles that are sometimes impossible to finish. If you have saved your power-ups, you will be able to use them if you think you cannot strategize with the present pieces.

Since you are completing the puzzles for your aquarium, a part of your goal is to make the fishes happy. You can choose a name for your fish which is assigned by the time you buy them. Just tap on the text in a line, enter your desired name, and click OK. The names can also be changed anytime.
