Candy Crush Soda Saga Game Mechanics
The game's developers still retained the match-three puzzle game format but trust me, there are so many new modes and new challenges to push your puzzling skills to the hilt.
There are a lot of sweets of all colors and varieties on the puzzle fields, and the goal is for you to solve the prepared riddles and collect the desired sweet combinations. You achieve this by switching and matching candies to create 3 in a row or match 4 (or more) to create delicious special candies!
So you try to complete the goals before you run out of moves to progress through deliciously fun levels brimming with purple soda and Candy Bears.
Speaking of fun levels, Candy Crush Soda Saga has different level types, with each of them needing a different strategy and objectives to complete the level.
Let’s look at them:
The Soda Level:This is where you start when you play Candy Crush Soda Saga. The goal at this level is for you to play the Soda Bottles to pump up your soda levels. You'd have to get a certain number of soda bottles to complete the level.
The Frosting Level:The frosting level is the point where the fun starts. The goal at this level is to match candy to smash the ice and set the Candy Bears free. Get all the frozen bears out as fast as you can, and you get to move on to the next level.
The Bubble Levels:This level might seem simple, but they are quite tricky. First, there is a candy string that runs through the playing field. The goal of the Bubble level is to get the bears above the candy necklace.
The Chocolate levels:I found this level to be the trickiest because of the limited number of moves to get through this level. The goal is to remove the chocolate. Unfortunately, the chocolate kept multiplying when I couldn’t remove any chocolate in the previous move.
The Honey levels:The honeycomb levels are full of honey blockers with Candy Bears inside. The goal is to match candies next to the honeycomb to free the Candy Bears.
Candy Crush Soda Saga is simple in principle. Complete as many quests as possible to progress through the Season Pass while earning rewards and boosters to facilitate your epic journey through the Magical Kingdom.
Candy Crush Soda Saga is free to and play on Facebook, Google Play, or Apple iTunes. From my experience, the Facebook version is great for playing on laptop or desktop PCs that run Windows or Mac OS. The Google Play version runs smoothly on Android devices, while the iTunes version works best for iPhones or iPads.
Crushing Sodas and Candies You might be tempted to think that the fastest way to win at Candy Crush Soda Saga is matching 3 candies together. Not exactly.
Because on most levels, it’s mathematically impossible to clear the objective with match 3 moves. On most of the really tricky levels, you’re going to need to clear out so much candy that matching 3 just isn’t going to cut it. And so every 3-in-a-row move you make takes you one move closer to losing.
I found out that the best way out was to master the “special candies”
Why?Because they are super important, and you can't clear enough candy in each level without using them. So what trick is to position your candies to create special candy matches.
To get special candy matches, match four or more candies either in a line, an L or T shape, or a square. For example, if you match 4 candies in a square, you get a Swedish Fish and matching 7 candies to get new Coloring Candy, But you'd need more than special candies to get a shot at winning.
Special candy combos are the tools to get through the levels in the game. You can create them by matching pairs of special candies together. The good news is that they don’t have to be the same color or type.
Better still, I got a different effect for each different combination of candy combo I created. For instance, when I needed to clear frosting, I used matches like wrapped +stripped, and when I needed to increase soda levels, I matched two fish together to release 3 fish candy that breaks soda bottles.
There is a caveat, though. Most levels have limited moves that them more difficult than the others. However, the special candy combinations are determined by the candies the level gives you. So it's really all down to your luck, not your skill.
