DESCRIPTION

Collect eggs and hatch a variety of animals with unique abilities by venturing into monster nests. Form alliances, fight with them, kill foes with combination strikes, and ride off into the sunset as a champion.

As the game progresses, you'll come across several side missions as well as hours of hard turn-based fights in which you must balance monster skills, rider abilities, and opponent attack patterns. The series' first instinctual rock-paper-scissors fighting system is a breath of fresh air for both veterans and beginners. It's an excellent introduction to the famed Monster Hunter universe, as well as a game unlike any other in the series.

Monster Hunter Stories is a Nintendo 3DS role-playing game developed by Capcom and Marvelous and released by Nintendo. It's a Monster Hunter spinoff with a very different gameplay focus than the rest of the series.

In comparison to the other games in the series, Monster Hunter Stories has an entirely different gameplay system. You play as a Rider who befriends monsters by collecting and hatching their eggs. You may then give your companion monsters, known as Monsties, names, ride them throughout the open world, and have them fight with you. You'll be able to explore various settings, combat monsters in the field, acquire items, and take eggs from monster nests.

Monster Hunter Stories, unlike the rest of the franchise, uses a more typical turn-based fighting system. Both the rider and their monsters will be able to assault the enemy during your turn. There are three sorts of attacks for both you and the enemy: Power, Speed, and Technical.

In a game of rock-paper-scissors, one category is stronger than the other: Technical will defeat Power, Technical will defeat Speed, and Speed will defeat Power. When an opponent monster attacks a character and that character attacks back, a Head-to-Head battle begins, pitting their two attack kinds against each other, with the dominant attack type winning the battle.

If you and your monster both employ the same attack type and hold the type advantage when the opponent is targeting someone, they will launch a Double Attack, preventing the enemy from fighting back. You will receive experience points and equipment drops if you win battles. You can participate in sidequests, known as subquests, that offer item and experience benefits when completed.

The Great Sword, the Sword & Shield, the Hammer, and the Hunting Horn are the only four weapons available in this title from the core series to wield in battle. You'll be able to employ special abilities based on the weapon and equipment you're using, and you'll be able to use items in combat as well to aid you in your journey.

The Rite of Channeling feature allows you to customize companion monsters by transferring Bond Genes into their slots to activate and awaken their stats and powers. This allows you to customize and alter your play style even further.

How to play

The game begins with the protagonist and his pals, Cheval and Lilia, on the hunt for a monster egg. They come into a nest containing one, and it hatches into a Rathalos who bonds with the protagonist almost instantly. Ratha is the creature's name. When they return to Hakum Village, however, they are ambushed by a raging Nargacuga infected with the Black Blight. Ratha tries to protect the village but appears to be slain in the process. Cheval's mother, Vlau, is also killed in the raid, which makes him miserable.

To put an end to the Black Blight, the protagonist sets out to find the egg of a legendary white dragon named Versa Pietru, which was formerly tamed by the first Rider, Redan. They discover the egg, but Manelger steals it. The monster hatches and develops to a monstrous size when Manelger offers the egg to Cheval, who is carrying the fake ore.

When Cheval loses control of the creature, it becomes afflicted with blight and transforms into Makili Pietru. Cheval ultimately sees the error of his ways, as you rush to stop Makili Pietru from infecting the entire world.

Monster Hunter Stories is a spin-off series, although it might be confusing for long-time Monster Hunter fans because the focus in this game is on taming and befriending Monsties rather than battling them. In this Monster Hunter Stories guide, we'll provide you with the tips you'll need to get started with the game and begin your adventure.

● Explore everywhere

Do not limit yourself to main quests and a straight path. Take a detour if you want to be more adventurous. Go wherever you want.  Simply have a look around. You will come across knowledge that can considerably assist you on your path.

Monster Hunter Stories, like many RPGs, includes a very good map. It's only right that you explore this map as well. Gather everything you can. Nothing should be left behind. Also, do not sell anything that appears to be useless at first. They'll come in handy in later quests, and they'll save you time grinding for these items later on.

● Egg stealing You must steal a Monstie while it is still an egg and return it to Navi in order to tame it. Navi will inform you whether or not the egg has the potential for growth into a good Monstie, and the more praises he offers it, the more you'll want to return it.

It's important to remember that you can't pick up anything while carrying an egg. So, before you start snatching eggs, make sure you clear the Monster Dens.

● Don't forget about surprise attacks

If you're familiar with ARPGs, you'll know that in the open world, you may approach enemies while they're sleeping and unleash a free strike.

You may also conduct surprise assaults in Monster Hunter Stories. To perform a Surprise Attack, approach a Monstie when it is asleep or looking in the opposite direction and then initiate a fight. You'll earn a free turn and maybe more damage against the Monstie.

● Kinship moves In Monster Hunter Stories, kinship moves are unique. You should utilize them as often as possible because their benefit will reset after each combat and will not transfer over to the next.

You should also keep in mind that the earlier you initiate a Kinship assault, the sooner you may launch another. So don't leave it stacked until the last possible moment. If you don't want to utilize Kinship moves too often, you should be aware that when you mount your Monstie, you will receive your Monstie's stats, which will make your team quite powerful.
