DESCRIPTION

Help an alligator have a shower by directing clean water to his cubbyhole, collect his duckies while you are at it too!

Where's the Water? is an easy game to play: simply clear the blockage to allow water or steam to flow to where it should go. At the beginning, deliver clean water to Swampy, who wants to have a shower in the sewers. Then you will meet Allie, a girl alligator who loves the colour purple, and needs some steam in her organ to play a tune. Lastly there is Cranky, who hates algae and needs you to kill it so it can get to the food underneath. While all you need to do is to clear a space for water or steam to flow, the puzzles pose quite a challenge. The game gives you more challenges as you go further along.

The game is pretty to look at. Swampy is nice, Allie is cute, only Cranky seems to be angry looking and always hungry. At the start, you just have to clear the ground towards the funnel that leads to the alligators. To pass the basic level, you need to supply them with a certain amount. Swampy will be happy and start to shower; Allie's steam organ will play and she will start dancing; Cranky will be happy that his plate is algae free. If there is not enough, the alligators will be sad (Cranky will be still cranky) and you have to restart the level.

After 5 levels, you will arrive at barriers. To remove barriers, you will need a certain amount of ducks. After level 2, you can unlock new challenges within the same level. The common challenges include duck rush, upside down and avoid it. You can take the chance to collect more ducks to advance in the episode. In duck rush mode, direct the water to the lowest level as the screen scrolls down automatically. With upside down, the game flips and you have to work the game in the opposite direction. In avoid it, avoid getting ducks to get the ducks.

Once you get a hold of how the game plays, you will get new elements. The most common one is the switch, where when water reaches it, the platform will move. To activate the water, simply add water. Sometimes you need to time the water so you can collect ducks before the water moves away. Water and steam moves according to real world physics. They can accumulate in lower levels, splash out and will find any nook and cranny. When playing Where's My Water, you have to remember that water in the game will behave like water in real life.

Then you have the mystery duck, it wears a tuxedo and looks suave. The mystery duck changes some challenges to give you a mega duck, which is a big duck that needs a lot of water to get. Mystery duck can also change your ducks into small ducklings. Sometimes the duck can teleport or levitate, making it hard to catch.

How to play

The main thing to pass a challenge is to give the alligators what they want. Remove the obstacles and direct the water to the pipes and watch as they dance with joy. Clear the dirt for the water to move, but be aware of the open gaps where the water can disappear to. Remember that steam will always travel upwards in Allie's challenges, and her ducks also require steam, not water. Clean water will make the green algae multiply, which means Cranky cannot get his food.

The other fluids are purple poison, toxic green ooze, and brown mud. Purple poison kills the algae, which you have to deliver to Cranky. Mixing water with poison water will turn the water poisonous. Mud can dry out unless it is in the same space with steam. When mud meets ooze, they will cancel each other out. Ooze and poison water will cause an explosion, and its acidic nature will eat through dirt. Mud and Ooze can kill ducks, so you have to make sure to steer them clear away. Cranky's ducks will only accept poison water, if the ducks meet clean water they will die.

You have to know how the fluids behave sometimes to move them around. Mud does not splash or bounce, while ooze does not flow as well as water. Ooze can destroy hot coals, which is useful if you need to save the water. At higher levels, you have to use of all your knowledge to direct the correct fluid to the alligators. Most challenges are short challenges and will take around 1 minute to complete, and you have to repeat it if you did not meet the target.

You can replay challenges even if you have passed it, usually to collect the ducks that you have missed. The game does not accept the new ducks you collect into the total amount, but it will count the highest amount you managed. So if you need more ducks to advance a level, simply return to previous challenges. Some challenges will give you collectibles, when you manage a certain amount, there are bonus levels. The game becomes harder by adding bombs, icicles and balloons and fans that will cause the fluid to move differently.

Where's My Water? is an easy game to understand but gives you endless hours of fun and frustration. Watch Swampy becomes sad, Allie becomes frustrated and Cranky becomes angry when you fail can be funny. There is a sense of satisfaction when you manage to deliver the goods and make them happy. This game is child friendly, and if you are stuck in a challenge, simply hit the hint button. You can also pay for power-ups like vacuum, dropper and absorber. The boosters are mainly for you to gain more ducks and will not affect the game as much. If you have trouble advancing a level, it can be a good idea to use the power-up. Do you like this game?
