With a mysterious new superpower, Eggman has conquered most of the planet in his greatest victory to date. Sonic's allies establish a movement to stand and fight, and in the middle of the chaos and devastation, an unlikely hero emerges to aid Modern and Classic Sonic in reclaiming the Earth. Dr. Eggman has a new ally, so even these three heroes may have their work cut out for them.
Sonic Forces is a platform video game released in 2017 by Sega and developed by Sonic Team. It was published in November 2017 for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One to mark the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise's 25th anniversary.
It has three playable modes: classic side-scrolling gameplay akin to the original Sega Genesis Sonic games; modern 3D gameplay akin to Sonic Unleashed (2008) and Sonic Colors (2010); and a mode starring your created character, the Avatar.
Sonic Forces is an action-adventure platform game similar to previous Sonic the Hedgehog games in terms of gameplay and design. Your mission is to save the planet from Doctor Eggman's newly created reign. Three playable characters are included in the game: two Sonic the Hedgehog varieties (Classic and Modern), as well as the "Avatar" character (your custom character).
Each has their own powers and qualities: Classic Sonic can only conduct a spin dash on the ground and a drop dash in mid-air to boost speed and is limited to side-scrolling gameplay similar to the Sega Genesis Sonic games.
Modern Sonic's gameplay is identical to that of Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors: he is able to double jump, use homing attacks on foes, use springs, and grappling hooks, and gather White Wisps for a speed boost.
The Avatar is made up of seven different animal species, each with its own special power; they also have a grappling hook and may use Wispons, such as flamethrowers, whips, and hammers. Avatars can employ temporary powers based on the Wispon by collecting the appropriate Wisp kind. Similar to Sonic Heroes, you play as both Modern Sonic and the Avatar at times, swapping between them as needed.
Green Hill Zone is one of the numerous themed stages in the game, several of which are based on places from previous games. Apart from Classic Sonic, you have to finish each level while defeating waves of opponents and smoothly switch between side-scrolling and third-person views.
Spring boards, rails, and boost pads are among the stage's many features, as are spikes, bottomless pits, and robots. Golden rings are spread across the levels as a type of health: they shield you from harm given by robots or other hazards, yet you lose them when struck; being hit with no rings results in death.
The game does not feature a typical life system, instead of subtracting points based on how many times you die. Your performance is graded, with an "S" ranking being the highest and a "C" ranking being the worst.
In some levels, there is a boss that must be fought in order to progress. Bonus levels may be accessed by collecting Red Rings scattered throughout the game, and you may also be given SOS Missions, which require you to retake levels with a specified goal.
Sonic goes off to stop Doctor Eggman from attacking a city. Infinite, a mercenary empowered by the power of the Phantom Ruby from Sonic Mania, attacks him as soon as he arrives. Sonic is defeated by Infinite and imprisoned on the Death Egg. Without Sonic, the planet is without a defense, and Eggman succeeds in conquering it in six months with the assistance of his robots, Infinite, Shadow the Hedgehog, Chaos, Zavok, and Metal Sonic.
With Tails, the Chaotix, Amy Rose, Silver the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, and a survivor of Eggman's attack nicknamed the Rookie, Knuckles the Echidna establishes a resistance organization. They aim to get together to rescue Sonic and battle Eggman to save the world.
We're not dealing with the most difficult game here, but that doesn't mean we can't provide some Sonic Forces advice for you. There are a lot of boss encounters to contend with along the route, as well as plenty of Sonic Forces secrets to find if you know where to search.
If you really want to get the most from Sonic's adventure, use our Sonic Forces tips to ensure you don't miss anything important.
● Choose your avatar carefully The majority of the avatar features are just cosmetic, however, the many base avatars, such as the cat, hedgehog, wolf, and bear, move significantly differently and have varied secondary powers.
After being damaged, the cat, for example, holds on to one ring, providing you with an extra layer of protection against certain death. The rabbit has a longer period of invincibility after being damaged, whereas the bird has a higher double-jump. If you know you're prone to stumbling into danger or have trouble jumping, choose an avatar to compensate for your flaw.
● Get to know your Wispons Similarly, the Wispon you choose for your avatar has a significant influence on the game.
Each has its own set of advantages, although some, such as Lightning, Asteroid, and Hover, are especially useful, with the latter often saving your life when you fall. Some are melee-only, which might be problematic at some levels, while the Drill is extremely strong but takes a long time to charge. If you're having trouble with a level, consider exiting and changing Wispon, then returning.
● Exploration is important Sonic Forces' levels, especially its 2D-focused levels, always feature alternate pathways and secret caches of treasure you may take merely by falling down or jumping up to a lower platform or by performing the correct ability at the right moment.
Make a habit of inspecting every part of the map for valuables that will aid you on your quest.
● Watch out with bosses Although the bosses in Sonic Forces aren't very difficult, there are three techniques that might help you overcome them more quickly.
Before attempting to jump on them, you need to first observe and learn. Examine their attack patterns and search for weak spots; the green crosshair is a dead giveaway. Some bosses throw objects your way, which you can return back by leaping in front of them. Finally, on the boss stage, do not grab all of the rings at once. If you're hit, you could lose them all, so have a few on hand to grab and protect yourself.
